Thunder in Saskatoon

Nice looking clouds outside today as the sun and the clouds battle for space!

Storms Today - Central Saskatchewan - Southern Ontario

Two places of interest today. Central Saskatchewan and southern Ontario should get an honorable mention. The huge storms that finally left Manitoba yesterday are now re-organizing in the same hot air just further south and intesified by the surrounding lakes. However, as usual with Ontario storms, the wind shear is not as good there and with all the trees and buildings, it has to be some of the worst areas to chase storms in Canada. Back in Saskatchewan however, our skies are cooking up right now and my cam shows the soupy looking clouds in the north with layers and really nice convective (pop-corn) clouds forming all over the place. I think we actually have way too much moisture and unless it clears out and heats up, storms will be mild out here today. Ontario is going to see some major light shows tonight though.

Nice Gradient in Southern Manitoba

It is 29C in south-east Manitoba, Winnipeg is 22C, Cypress Hills, Saskatchewan is only 6C !! Seems like a good chance of a monster storm to develop somewhere but it looks like that is much further south. Storms will likely develop somewhere along the International border.
